Sir,
Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh’s announcement that researchers at all publicly funded institutions will have to take a minimum of 12 hrs of undergraduate or school level lecturer per year in order to ‘Serve society in a wider capacity’ is more than welcome.
The interface between scientists and school students will give a new dimension to education in the country. The students will learn a great deal from this community. The interface will inspire students to think higher and take big challenges.
The move as initiated by the Government is quite promising. The only thing that needs to be done is to implement the scheme in letter and spirit and by taking into account all aspects in view. The move will certainly help in building a scientific temper among the students.
