Webinar on ‘Job opportunities by Ministry of MSME, constraints faced by J&K youth’

JAMMU, July 2: Fahad Mir Foundation organized a webinar with Union Minister for Road and Transport and MSME on the subject, ‘Job opportunities by Ministry of MSME, constraints faced by J&K youth’.
The webinar was organized in association with Care Nature and Environment Society (NGO) and there were 15 star panelists from Jammu as well as from Kashmir. Top Bureaucrats heading departments akin to the purpose, participated in this meaningful event.
Principal Secretary School Education and Skill Development, Asgar Samoon; Vice Chancellor of Kashmir University Talat Ahmad; Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Manoj Dhar; Director Industries Kashmir, Mehmood Shah; Director Industries, Jammu, Anu Malhotra; Director Handicraft and Handloom, Kashmir Division, Massarat Islam and Kapil Sharma, Chief Operating Officer Himayat, were the panelists. Arun Gandhotra, Executive President of J&K Bank was also in the panel.
President of Kashmir Chambers of Commerce and Industries and chairperson of women wing of KCCI along with Federation of Chambers and Industries Kashmir President Ashraf Mir and Industrial Estates Head Shahid Kamili participated from Kashmir and briefed the Minister about the problems faced by Kashmir Industry pre COVID & post COVID. The Industrial panelists also requested the Union Minister to provide them better transport facilities for the finished goods
Lalit Mahajan, President Bari Brahamana Industrial Association; Sandeep Mital, General Secretary Kathua Industrial Estate Association; Rahul Sahai, Co Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of Transport Nagar Association Jammu, put forth their demands, problems and constrains before the Minister.
Ruchi Chouhan Khan, founder of Fahad Mir Foundation and Sectary Care and Nature Environment Society, in her address, highlighted the employment problems of the youth. She also emphasized on the Industrial need gaps and lack of required skills.
The Union Minister interacted with the panelists and assured all possible help and co operation from his Ministry. He invited the industrialists to approach him directly for any help.
The demands and points taken up for discussion with the Union Minster, include; single window system for processing and implementation, time limits for the clearances of cases, industrial need-based skill, implementation of the scheme in J&K viz marketing and establish units, special package and concession for settlement of NPA accounts, revival package for the sick units, establishment of defence production/ fertilization plants/ Rail coach factory to absorb youth, amend 2016 industrial policy to make it more entrepreneur-friendly, marketing support by SICOP for the survival, etc.
