We don’t need third party to negotiate issues concerning India, Pak: Sitharaman

JAMMU : Union Commerce and Industries Minister Nirmala Sitharaman today said that India does not need any third party to negotiate issues, concerning Pakistan.
“Government is very much clear on the issues related to Pathankot attack and the Separatists,” Ms Sitharaman told reporters here this afternoon.
The Union Minister, flanked by BJP SC National President Dushyant Gautam, was in the town to address a public rally, as part of ‘Vikas Parv,’ on the completion of two years of Modi-led government at the Centre.
”There is no tri-lateral required in this matter as India deals with its affairs on its own,” she said.
The Minister replied to a query on Pakistan’s invite to Kashmiri Separatists to attend ‘Iftaar’ at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi on June 25.
Separatist leaders from Jammu and Kashmir, including Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, have been invited by the Pakistan High Commission for the annual Iftaar party.
”We don’t need any third party to negotiate on issues concerning India and Pakistan,” she asserted.
However, on Pathankot, she said, “Government is never soft on anybody, who wish to harm India.”
”We shall not be soft and the Government of India on this matter has been taking a very considered position, with regard to Pathankot attack,” said Ms Sitharaaman.
The Union Ministers for Defence and Home have already stated on many occasions that any kind of border incursions shall not be tolerated, “they have cleared that we (India) shall retaliate, whenever there is incursion in due proportion,” she added.
The Minister, however, said that there shall be no compromise on India’s Territorial Integrity. (AGENCIES)
