JAMMU, July 15: Water Works (PHE) Employees Association today projected their demands and resolved to hold protest demonstration on July 22 at all the PHE offices at district headquarters.
In a meeting of the Association held under the chairmanship of State president of INTUC and Provincial president of the Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma, the members discussed the issues of the PHE workers. While addressing the meeting Shiv Kumar said that despite repeated reminders and pleas, the authorities have shown apathy towards the genuine demands which were put before the senior officers of the PHE through charter of demands and repeated representations and demonstrations.
He pointed out that this attitude of the authorities, at the helm of affairs has compelled the Association to adopt this course. The extent of their plight is so intensive that monthly wages of the daily rated workers are over due for the last about 30 months.
