Water crisis in Sharika Vihar

JAMMU, May 13: Residents of Sharika Vihar locality in lower Roop Nagar claim acute drinking water scarcity in their area for the last one year and added that the issue has been brought many times into the notice of concerned department for redressal.
They also said that the problem worsens during summers when almost no water runs through pipes for days together.
A handout stated that Sharika Vihar residents are frequently fetching waters through tankers on exorbitant rates.
Further, the residents accused PHE officials for not paying any heed to their demand even though the issue was brought into the notice of Chief Engineer of the Department.
They appealed to the Governor and the concerned Advisor for giving directions to the PHE officials for ensuing regular water supply in the locality.
