Warm send off to retiring officials

SRINAGAR, Dec 27: A meet was organized at Regional Civil Defence Control-room (RCDC), Srinagar to bid farewell to Deputy Controller, Civil Defence Srinagar Mohammad Rafiq, who is attaining superannuation on December 31.
The programme was attended by Commandant, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) SSP Mehraj-ud-Din, Coordinator Disaster Management and Deputy Chief Warden CD, Aamir Ali, Divisional Warden CD, Rahi Riyaz Ahmed, DySPs of SDRF and Home Guards, CD Warden Imtiyaz Ahmed, ASI (M) Shabir Ahmed Khan and entire staff of Civil Defence, Srinagar. A memento was also presented to the outgoing officer by the CD staff.
Speaking on the occasion Rahi Riyaz, Aamir Ali and SSP Mehraj-ud-Din lauded the role of Mohammed Rafiq as Deputy Controller, in supporting various activities of Civil Defence Srinagar, especially related to disaster preparedness trainings, which were imparted to thousands of youth. Sartaj Parry and Altaf Ahmed, newly enlisted CD Volunteers, demonstrated the use of gas-safety device, which prevents leakage of LPG, by automatically shutting-off the gas supply.
Meanwhile, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri, Makhan Lal Sharma was accorded warm send off from his services in a function organised by the Teachers of Darhal zone at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), Darhal.
While speaking, ML Sharma, who was the chief guest, said that there is no noble profession as that of a teacher, and there is no doubt, that teacher is builder of nation and an agent for positive social change.
Iqbal Malik, senior Congress leader, who was guest of honour and Arif Malik, District Planning Officer, Rajouri, Principal of GHSS Darhal, Mian Aftab, ZEO Darhal, Bidhi Chand, ZEPO, Parvaiz Malik, Principals of Government and private institutions, besides hundreds of teachers of zone, community representatives, intellectuals, and social activists were present on the occasion.
