Warm farewell given to Justice Rashid Ali

JAMMU, Nov 15: To bid adieu to Justice Rashid Ali Dar, a full court farewell reference was held today in the Chief Justice’s Court at High Court Wing Jammu.
The farewell function was attended by Chief Justice of J&K High Court, Justice Gita Mittal, Justice Rajesh Bindal, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and Justice Sindhu Sharma.
The function was also attended by Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam, Principal Secretary Home Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department Dheeraj Gupta, Law Secretary Achal Sethi, president of Bar Association Abhinav Sharma along with his team of advocates.
Additional Advocate General S S Nanda along with other law officers, Additional Solicitor General of India, Tahir Shamsi and Vishal Sharma, former judges of J&K High Court, Principal District & Sessions Judge Jammu RK Wattal and other Judicial Officers, officers of Registry and members of Bar also attended the fuction.
The farewell proceedings were conducted by Registrar General, Sanjay Dhar while as SS Nanda addressed the gathering and highlighted Justice Dar’s judicial verdicts during his tenure in J&K High Court.
Justice Rashid Ali Dar, in his farewell speech, appreciated the cooperation and commitment of the members of Bar and their support in his time in High Court. He also lauded the judges of the High Court, Judicial Officers of the State and personal staff of High Court for their dedication and commitment.
Later, Guard of honour was also presented to Justice Rashid Ali Dar. It is worthwhile to mention here that with the retirement of Justice Rashid Ali Dar, there are only eight Judges left out of 17 Judges.
