ABT solemnizes Yagnopavit ceremony of 16 KP boys

JAMMU, Nov 15: To keep the age -old tradition of wearing sacred thread alive and baptizing the community children so that they don’t go astray from their Sanskars, the Samohik (joint) Yagnopavit ceremony of 16 Kashmiri Pandit boys was performed by Amar Balidan Trust (ABT) here at Kralbab Ashram Bantalab today.
The function started yesterday evening and it culminated this evening. A large number of people attended the function and the sacred thread wearing ceremony was solemnized with recitation of Vedic Mantras by religious scholars. The Yagnopavit was initiated by chairman of Trust R K Raina and its president A K Raina along with former MLC Ajay Bharti.
The BJP general secretary (Org) Ashok Kaul also attended the function. There was a lot of enthusiasm and fervor among the participants. The Bhajan -Kirtan was also held during the two days. The people were served with Prashad after the culmination of function.
The Executive members of the Trust including B K Bhat its secretary, Manmohan Koul , M K Tickoo, R L Wali, Subash Chatta, R K Bhat, Ashok Pandita coordinated in making the arrangements while M L Malla and Vijay Kashkari supervised the function.
