Govt orders constitution of Apex Committee for Himayat Scheme

JAMMU, Nov 15: The J&K Government today has ordered the constitution of an eight member Apex Committee for Himayat Scheme which will be headed by a Chairman.
The order stated that Financial Commissioner, Health and Medical Education Department shall be the Chairman of the Committee while it’s members will include Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor; Administrative Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department; Administrative Secretary, Labour and Employment Department; Administrative Secretary, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj; Mission Director, J&K Rural Livelihood Mission (Member Secretary); Representative of the Finance Department (not below the rank of Director); Representative from Deen Dyal Upadhaya-Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and Representative from Central Technical Support Agency (CTSA).
The order signed by Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Secretary GAD stated that terms of reference of the Apex Committee shall be to evaluate the proposals of Project Implementing Agencies and to approve the proposals of Project Implementing Agencies, allot targets, set areas of operation and set the project framework for implementation of Himayat Scheme as per DDU-GKY guidelines.
The order further mentioned that the Committee shall be serviced by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj.
