RAJOURI, May 20: Thanamandi police nabbed a notorious drug peddler and wanted criminal from Nagrota area of Jammu today.
Identified as Ibrar Afzal, son of Mohd Afzal, a resident of Pangai area of Thannamandi, he was wanted in many cases registered against him. He was arrested from Nagrota area of Jammu by a Thannamandi Police party.
A senior police officer said that a special team was constituted under the supervision of SDPO Thannamandi Dr Imtiaz Hussain. The team led by SHO Thannamandi, Insp Shoket Hussain arrested him today from Nagrota area.
He was absconding for the past some time. He was wanted in FIR No. 11/2022 U/S 353/332/341/504/34 IPC, FIR No. 60/2022 u/s 307/341/323/336/504/506/34 IPC of Police Station Thanamandi and FIR No. 55/2021 U/S 366/376/109 IPC of Police Station Darhal.
Police said he was absconding for the past some time and was involved in many criminal and illegal activities. Public of the area has demanded that such persons must be hooked under PSA as they are threat to the society.
