DODA, Nov 17: R&B Minister and Congress candidate from Doda Assembly constituency Abdul Majid Wani today said that he would develop Doda as model constituency.
Addressing public meetings at Bemina, Thanote, Manjimi and Bhagwah in Doda constituency today, Mr Wani appealed the people to provide him another chance to serve them in better way. He said that it was his mission to serve the people of his area and develop Doda as model constituency. For this, he has now dedicated his life.
He pointed out that since 2000, he was struggling to carry on development works in the area and its pace was increased after he become Minister. He said even being MLA he managed many development projects for the constituency.
Wani said many road projects and water supply schemes were taken up. Many new road projects have been cleared for Doda. A trauma hospital and Medical College got sanctioned for Doda. New district hospital building has come up and new sports stadium is being development at the district headquarters. Wani said that he managed upgradation of many Primary, Middle and High Schools in Doda. New ration depots were opened in far flung and remote areas to facilitate people. He said if people provide him another chance, he would continue developing Doda with same zeal and devotion.
The Congress leader asked the people of Chinab valley to remain vigilance from the divisive and communal forces and asked them to defeat their nefarious designs. He said parties like BJP and PDP were befooling the people and exploiting them on the communal lines to grab vote bank. He said the Congress is secular force and believes in taking along the people of all faiths and religions. Mr Wani asked the people to reject all the communal and divisive parties and ensure victory of Congress in the elections.
Sarpanch Kartar Singh, Najib-ur-Rehman Fani, Vishal Bhagat, Aadil Karim Wani, Suraj Parkash and others also spoke on the occasion.
