Wani lays foundation stone of Marjali Gharota to Satorwan road

JAMMU, Mar 3: Minister for R&B Abdul Majid Wani today laid foundation stone of up gradation work of link road from Marjali Gharota Chowk to Satorwan via Kaink Village.
The 4 km road, under NABARD assistance, will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 264.49 lakh, benefitting huge population of Marjali, Kaink, Satorwan, Nandwal, Clay and other adjoining villages of block Bhalwal of Raipur Domana.
MLA Raipur Domana constituency Bharat Bhushan, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu, Chief Engineer PMGSY and other officers, Sarpanchs, Panchs besides a large number of people were present on the occasion.
Addressing the large gathering at Kaink, Wani said that Coalition Government deeply cares and values the genuine aspirations and urgent needs of its people and is wholeheartedly striving to address these. He said that Government especially the R&B Department needs full support from the public whose land or property gets involved during road laying and widening projects as these are meant for the overall development and welfare of the people. ” Roads schemes can be completed rapidly if people fully cooperate in land acquisition and other related matters”, he added.
Highlighting importance of better road connectivity between rural areas and urban centers, Wani said it gives new impetus and considerably improves the overall socio-economic development index of the area through mutual exchange of goods and services. ” Better roads act as magnet and provide the basic lifeline to attract further development and welfare”, he added reiterating his resolve to improve the road connectivity percentage in unattended areas especially in rural and hilly pockets of the State.
Appreciating the recent decision of the Union Government to support the endeavor of Jammu and Kashmir Government to provide road connectivity to left out habitations, the Minister said that this has lent vital support to our endeavor to reach out to people residing in remote and far flung areas.
Stressing on maintaining standards of quality and timeline completion of all road projects, Mr Wani directed the executing department to ensure that the up-gradation work is carried as per the approved technical specifications and the road project gets completed well within the stipulated timeframe. He also gave on the spot directions for immediately taking up gradation work on Temple Road stretch.
MLA, Raipur Bharat Bhushan highlighted several development needs of the area for his consideration. Wani said that genuine demands will be addressed on priority and asked officers to sit with the local public representatives and work together to address urgent welfare needs.
