BUDGAM, June 10: PDP leader, Nazir Ahmad Yatoo has demanded that residents of Wangwas in Charar-i- Sharief constituency should be shifted to some safe location as the land in the village is sinking for last some years.
In a handout he stated that villagers of Wangwas already have land available but they are in need of road connectivity and drinking water supply which should be made available by the authorities concerned on priority.
“Agricultural and residential land in almost a dozen villages in Chadoora area of this district is sinking due to continuous wet weather for the last several years,” he said adding that almost one dozen villages in upper reaches of Chadoora with loose Karewa soil were seriously affected as the land is constantly sinking and eroding at many places.
“Wangwas Goggee Pathri is the worst affected village where people need to be rehabilitated and resettled as soon as possible,” said Yatoo.
