JAMMU, Feb 7: Vyeth a socio-cultural organization screened the profile for progeny V, a biopic on veteran social worker and philanthropist, Dr Janki Nath Jigyasu at Abhinav Theatre here this evening.
Vidyabhanu Shastri, a renowned Vedic scholar was the chief guest on the occasion. Rajesh Gupta, MLA Jammu East and BJP Chief  Whip and Dr Arvinder Amn, Additional Secretary, JKAACL were the guests of honour on the occasion.
Acharya Vidyabhanu Shastri while lauding the Vyeth for maintaining the focus towards their aim threw light on Dr Jigyasu and termed him a beacon of light and a man of very high caliber. He said that Dr Jigyasu had kept his whole life in the service of mankind and the nation as a whole. His commitment as a doctor is unparallel, he added.
Terming Dr Jigyasu a man of principles, he said Jigyasu’s aim was to help the needy and he used to give free medical advices.
He said Dr Jigyasu was a giant social worker who was not a messiah for Kashmiri Pandits but for the poor and downtrodden also. He said Dr Jigyasu not only served the cause of his own community but he will be remembered for his services in various capacities to different communities also.
Paying unflinching homage to him Shastri Ji said that he was a staunch worker of Arya Samaj and worked for this Samaj till his last breath.
Former Chief Secretary and ex MLC, Vijay Bakaya in his address besides giving an idea of the life of Dr Jigyasu and his commitment, complimented the Vyeth also. “Twenty eight year down the line since mass exodus if some one is projecting the great personalities and has become instrumental in carrying forward his information to our progeny who are scattered through out the world I will call such a work a pious contribution”, he added.
Rajesh Gupta and Dr Amn also spoke on the occasion and termed the efforts in preserving the legends as a yeoman’s service. Vyeth not only gave us life stories of great personalities but by releasing the books of various authors it has become also an indispensable part of literature in exile that would be a treasure for coming historians also, they said.
Prof Virender Rawal, president Vyeth summed up the activities of successes of Vyeth. “Vyeth has support of all and the involvement of the whole community has encouraged me from time to time”, he added.
