JAMMU, Feb 7: A meeting of All Jammu & Kashmir Patwar Association was held here today under the leadership of its president Sajjad Siddique.
Addressing the meeting Siddique warned that if the demands were not fulfilled by the Government in a week’s time the Association will go on strike.
He said the Revenue Minister has promised to get the demands fulfilled but till date the promises were not fulfilled which has generated resentment among the members.
Highlighting the issues, he demanded grade pay of 2800 for graduate patwaries, enhancement of allowances, creation of GQ Circles and Patwar halqas, holding the DPC of Girdawars and Patwaries and releasing the rent for Patwar Khanas.
He said there is lot of resentment among the members over non fulfillment of the demands. He accused the Government of forcing the Association to go on strike.
He said little financial implications are involved in settling these demands.
He said that Patwaries don’t want to put common man to trouble by taking recourse to agitation but we are compelled to do so and onus to it lies with the Government.
