JAMMU, Nov 1: All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association, has strongly criticized the attitude of the State Government for not fulfilling their promise of clearing their (employees’) dues, which they had made three years back with the employees, and demanded to immediately clear their dues, as their financial conditions have been deteriorating day by day due to steep rise in price rise of essential commodities.
The meeting of the association, which held here, also alleged that the benefits of the Government Order No 218-F had not been reached to the VRS or GHS employees of all the public sectors including SRTC employees and the Government has misused the said order.
Speaking on the occasion, its president, Dev Raj Bali, strongly criticized the attitude of the State Government and SRTC management, stating that every time they approached them for their dues, they had been put off just for nothing.
The meeting also demanded to release 126 slabs of COLA with effect from January 1, 2006, for which 670 VRS employees have been struggling, while the in-service employees and fresh retired employees have been getting this benefit.
Among others who were present in the meeting were Balwinder Singh, DN Sharma, Sain Mohd, BV Sharma, Asan Elahi, Surjit Singh, Gulshan Singh, Javed Iqbal and Jasbir Singh.
