JAMMU, Dec 26: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today said that vote for Congress will be a vote for stability, peace and prosperity of country and J&K State in particular.
While interacting with public in Gandhi Nagar, Bhalla said that no one except Congress can give nation a stable government. The country, he added, was passing through most sensitive phase and elections of divisive or communal forces to power would destabilize its economy in a big way. Maximum development took place during the tenure of Congress Govt which till date has remained matchless, he added.
Bhalla urged upon the people to sense gravity of situation and vote for a secular, progressive and visionary political outfit like Congress to power which has a legacy of building nation and bring peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir State in particular. The kind of development State witnessed in health sector and other fields is par excellence and only Congress can stretch that development further.
Bhalla asserted that Congress Government in Jammu and Kashmir had achieved tremendous success with active support of people. The kind of infrastructure it had developed matches international standards. He said empowerment of Panchayats, setting up of new administrative units for giving people easy access to Government and central schemes aimed at giving countrymen Right to Food, Right to Education and Right to Information had all shown tremendous response. He urged people to not fall a prey to farce and frivolous campaigns launched by BJP to woo voters merely to snatch power.
Launching attack on opposition, Bhalla alleged that parties like PDP and BJP were “spreading vicious propaganda” with an eye on votes. These parties are making tall claims about numbers in the ensuing elections, but their political relevance is a big question mark today. “Despite lacking minimum-required political base in Kashmir, BJP is running paper tigers with loud speak,” he alleged.
Seeking clear mandate for Congress in the coming elections, Bhalla said a stable Government alone can deliver on ground and satiate the aspirations of the people.
