KULGAM, Sept 11: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Showkat Aijaz Bhat today inaugurated Inter-Zone District Level (IZDL) Volleyball Tournament at Sports Stadium, here.
The event was organized by the District Youth Services and Sports Department.
The DDC interacted with the players stressing to take up sports along with academics and channelize their potential in full.
He also said that the sports activities have a significant impact on the social and mental development of youth, adding that games inculcate sportsmanship qualities, teamwork and discipline among youth.
DDC directed the concerned officials and participants to follow SOPs and guidelines in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
Among others, District Youth Services and Sports Officer and other staff members of District Youth Services and Sports office were present on the occasion.
