SAMBA, Sept 10: A man was seriously injured after he allegedly fired upon himself with his licensed weapon in the border village of Mawa in district Samba today.
He has been identified as Joginder Singh, son Gandharv Singh, who is said to be an ex-serviceman. He was seriously injured due to the bullet and was brought to the District Hospital Samba. After immediate treatment at D H Samba, the doctors referred him to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu in view of his serious condition.
The police have registered a case in this regard and started investigation. The cause of his extreme step was not known as yet. It is yet to be ascertained whether he fired upon himself or the bullet went off accidently. The police is investigating the matter.
