JAMMU, Mar 6: On the second day of the Sports Tourney 2018, organized by Dean Student Welfare (DSW) Cluster University of Jammu, Volleyball, Football and Badminton matches were played at Govt. SPMR College of Commerce, GGM Science College and Govt MAM College, the Constituent Colleges of Cluster University of Jammu.
The Volleyball Tournament was inaugurated by Prof Satinder Singh, Nodal Principal GGM Science College who was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that winning and losing is part of the game and participating with sporting spirit and enthusiasm is important, while Prof Romesh Chander, Principal Govt SPMR College of Commerce while appreciating the players said students should more actively involve themselves in various sports activities rather than being carried away by other influences which can have disastrous effect on both their physique and the intellect.
In Volleyball Men, Govt MAM College defeated GGM Science College by 2-0, while Govt SPMR College of Commerce defeated GOCE by 2-0.
In the final, Govt MAM College thrashed Govt SPMR College of Commerce by 3-0.
Those who were present included Prof Gopal Sharma, Prof BarbaraKoul, Prof Sandhya Bhardwaj and Aijaz Malik, Physical Director of Govt SPMR College of Commerce.
In the final of Football Men, Govt SPMR College of Commerce defeated GGM Science College by 4-2, while in Badminton final, Govt MAM College defeated Govt SPMR College of Commerce by 3-0.
