JAMMU, Dec 19: The Vigilance Organization Jammu (VOJ) today booked two former Senior Town Planners of the Jammu Municipal Corporation for granting illegal building permissions in posh area of Green Belt Park, Gandhi Nagar.
Two separate FIRs, under Section 5(1) (d) read with 5(2) J&K Prevention of Corruption Act Svt 2006 and Section 120-B RPC have been registered against Surinder Sharma and Farzana Naqashbandi, then Senior Town Planners in Jammu Municipal Corporation.
While elaborating, a VOJ spokesman said that Surinder Sharma, as then Senior Town Planner, had granted permission for illegal construction of a multi-storey house in Green Belt Park in 2010 by Pawan Dubey who further sold the said building as commercial structure along with an encroached strip of park, where `Nexa’ showroom is being run.
Verifications revealed that the said Public Servant, in league with Pawan Dubey, concealed the facts and accorded building permission without recommendations of Building Officer JMC, without getting measurement and without getting title verification of the plot.
In the other case, verifications revealed that former Senior Town Planner JMC Farzana Naqashbandi issued permission in favour of one Owais Mustafa Burza of Srinagar for construction of residential building on Plot number 5-A/C, Green Belt Park in violation to the approval of BOCA, drawing authenticated by the J&K Housing Board as well as Jammu Master Plan in 2013.
As per Jammu Master Plan, 40 percent ground coverage is allowed for construction but then Sr Town Planner issued the building permission on more area of ground floor.
