SRINAGAR, June 28: Governor N. N. Vohra was sworn-in as the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir for a fresh term at the oath ceremony held in Raj Bhavan lawns here this evening.
Mr. Vohra was administered the oath of office by Justice M. M. Kumar, Chief Justice of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court.
The Governor was presented a guard of honour by a contingent of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Mohammad Iqbal Khandey, Chief Secretary, read out in Urdu and English the Warrant of Appointment of the Governor, which had been issued by the President of India on May 1, 2013.
Mrs. Usha Vohra, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tara Chand, Deputy Chief Minister; Mubarak Gul, Speaker, State Legislative Assembly; Amrit Malhotra, Chairman, Legislative Council; Ministers; Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz, MP and President, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee; Members of Parliament, Legislators, Judges of the State High Court, Vice Chancellors, senior Civil, Police and Security Forces officers, political and social activists and prominent citizens were among those present on the occasion.
