JAMMU, Jan 11: Dr Vivek Sharma, Coordinator in the Department of Lifelong Learning, has been elected unopposed as new treasurer of the Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA), which is going to polls on January 17.
No candidate, except Vivek Sharma, filed nomination for the post of treasurer following which he was declared elected unopposed by the Dean Students Welfare, who is the authority for JUTA elections.
Dr Vijay Sehgal and Dr Kavita Suri have already been elected unopposed as joint secretary and vice-president, respectively.
For the post of president, there is a direct contest between Prof Vibhakar Mansotra of Computer Science and Prof J P S Jorel of Statistics Department while Dr Rakesh Vaid and Satinder Kumar have locked horns for the post of secretary.
