Vivek gets patent for his invention of constructing dome shaped structures

JAMMU, June 9: Vivek Sagar Sharma, a renowned innovator and researcher of Jammu, has been granted ‘Patent’ for his invention of a method and system for construction of light weight dome shaped structures by radial formwork.
The new method developed by Vivek Sagar Sharma, who is an Architect by qualification, redefines Dome making with all new innovative elements of formwork and construction. He claims it to be the most economical and fastest method of construction of Dome-Shells. He further claims that Dome-Shells made by this method are the most organic and eco-sensitive built forms.
This method envisions construction of a Dome-Shell, using three basic processes or elements: Placing a spur hub in the centre, putting a lot of spurs over its and layering achieved through multiple layers of different materials and compositions. Spur Hub and Spurs are removed later.
A patent certificate for patent number 388545 for his application, filed on 12-09-2014, was issued on June 3, 2022 by Intellectual Property India, a subordinate office of Government of India to administer all patents, designs, trademarks and geographical indicators in India.
As per provisions of the Patent Act 1970, the patent has been granted for a period of 20 years and Vivek Sagar Sharma, son of Kamla Sharma and Prem Sagar Sharma now owns clear and uncontested intellectual rights over the construction of Domes and Shells constructed through the most novel and original method he has devised through his vision and unrelenting hard work over the last 10 years.
Vivek Sagar Sharma has recommends that such Domes and Shells can be used as small houses for the needy, large houses for luxury and recreational living, tourist huts, hotels, resorts and restaurants etc.
