JAMMU, Sept 6: The decision of the Union Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to depute a strong contingent of Central ministers in different parts of the UT for direct interaction with the people, would serve as a bridge between the Government and the people.
These views were expressed by BJP leaders, including, former Minister, Sat Sharma, DDC Chairman, Bharat Bhushan, JMC Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta, former Minister, Sham Choudhary, BJP Headquarter Incharge Priya Sethi, J&K Secretary Arvind Gupta and Protocol Secretary Sanjay Khanna, while discussing the current political scenario in the UT in a meeting held at party headquarter, Jammu, on Monday.
These leaders said that nine week ‘Outreach Programme’ being initiated by the Union Government, wherein, 70 Union ministers will visit different areas of J&K, starting from September 09, is going to be a multi-purpose programme and first of its kind, undertaken by any Government after the independence, would obviously create understanding and develop trust among the people towards Government and its policies.
The BJP leaders further said that right from the day one, when the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir was reorganized after the abrogation of Article 370, every effort has been made by the BJP Government at the Centre to be in direct touch with the people of J&K through different means and platforms.
“While the LG administration has engaged itself in reaching the people in its own way and through its official machinery, the Government at the Centre is deputing not only Union Ministers but senior officials from different ministers too are visiting here regularly”, they said and expressed hope that the ‘Outreach Programme’ would prove to be great success and educate people about pro-development, pro-people and pro-welfare schemes of the Government and also the losses suffered during all these years when Article 370 was in operation and common people were the worst sufferers.
