Vinod Kumar’s Pott Aaalav hits stalls

JAMMU, Feb 28 : “Pott Aalav “, a book of Kashmiri Drama hits stands today. The book has been written by Vinod Kumar. The book was released in a simple but impressive literary function organized by Young Writers Guild at Geeta Bhawan, Muthi near here.
There are six scenes in the play that revolve round the heart touching incidents and sensitive human relations during the turbulent times of 1990 in Kashmir. It is a story of neghbourly relations. The book has been written in both Devnagri and Nastaleeq scripts. The plot of the drama has been written in English and it is summarized in four pages.
A Mechanical Engineer by profession, Vinod Kumar is an emerging writer from J&K. This is his third book after “Lal Ded” and “Sheen”.
The book was released in the literary function attended by a galaxy of intellectuals, writers and poets. The function was presided over by A.K. Naz, president Nagrad Adbi Sangam Jammu while Avtar Hugami, the renowned short story writer was the guest of honour.
The welcome address was delivered by Rinko Koul who also conducted the proceedings of the function.
A detailed paper on the book was presented by Ashok Gowher. The foreword has been written by J.K.Koul Bezaan.
Vinod Kumar in his address laid stress on preserving the tangible as well as intangible heritage of which mother tongue is an important part. He said that drama writing is an important component of any literature and this genre must be preserved.
Avtar Hugami acclaimed the role of the writer in promoting Kashmiri literature and language among the young generation. A.K. Naz in his address shared his views on the importance of drama writing in any literature. Kusum Tickoo, renowned artist also spoke on the occasion.
M.L.Masroof, Ashok Koul, Dr. Ramesh Nirash, Dildar Mohan, Som Nath Sanam, Ramesh Aagur, Chaman Pinjori, R.K. Pardesi and others were also present. The vote of thanks was presented by Satesh Safeer.
