UDHAMPUR, Dec 20: Alleging irregular supply of drinking water, villagers of Battal held a strong protest against Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, here today.
The protesting villagers raised slogans against the PHE authorities and threatened to block the road if the water supply is not made improved.
They alleged that there was no regular supply of drinking water in the Battal area for the last three months and whenever supply is made after four- five days, water mixed with grubby and mud comes out of taps with the result their kids and elderly people fall ill due to intestinal infection.
Even as the matter was brought into the notice of concerned PHE authorities, no action was taken in this regard, the villagers said.
