Villagers protest for completion of road work, land compensation

UDHAMPUR, Jan 17: Demanding completion of road work and land compensation, villagers held a strong protest demonstration against PMGSY Department and district administration, here today at Upper Madha.
A number of people from the Upper Madha village and adjoining area participated in the protest, which was held under the banner of Jan-Sangarsh Organization.
The villagers were protesting against unprecedented delay in the completion of road work from village Kud to Upper Mada in Chenani tehsil.
According to president of Jan-Sangarsh Organization, Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, works on this PMGSY road from Kud to Mada, about 12:40 kms in length with sanctioned cost of Rs 532.87 lakh, was started in March 2008 and it had to be completed by November, 2009. However, even after 10 year, the work is still incomplete, he said and also demanded immediate completion of the pending work besides land compensation to the people.
