MENDHAR, Oct 22: The villagers from Ari area of Mendhar sub division held protest demonstration against PWD authorities here today.
The people of the alleged that some portion of the road has been left out while black-topping by the PWD authorities in Ari area. Local resident, Jabir Khan and Bashir Ahmed said that the condition of this road has remained worst for many years. The locals were demanding repair/ blacktopping of the road for the last several months. It is unfortunate that nearly 250 mts of area has been left out by the concerned officials up to the village.
They said when the contractor and JE were asked why they have left 250 mtrs of area, they replied that they received orders to work up to only one kilometer.
People shouted slogans against the PWD department. They blocked the working machines of the contractor. The BDC chairman also came to the support. The people demanded intervention of DC Poonch into the matter.
