Vikramaditya asks PDP-BJP regime to give respectability to Jammu’s sentiment also

UDHAMPUR, Feb 28:  Former MLC and scion of erstwhile Royal Dogra family, Vikramaditya Singh today said that all three regions of the State should be treated equally and sentiments of the people of Jammu be given equal respectability.
Interacting with media persons after winding up his three-day tour to Udhampur, Vikramaditya Singh said that there was  feeling among people of Jammu that they have been ignored in every sphere of life and onus was  on the PDP-BJP present regime to respect sentiments of the people of this region also.
“Being part of the State, sentiments of the people of Jammu also deserve to be addressed properly”, he said, adding, “I had resigned as member of the PDP as well as MLC to fight for the right of the people of Jammu”.
Vikramaditya Singh, who paid floral tributes before the statue of martyr Captain Tushar Mahajan, regretted that soldiers from Jammu were attaining martyrdom every day. “It is unfortunate that situation in the State has been deteriorating with every passing day”, he said.
During his three-day visit to Udhampur, Vikramaditya Singh interacted with members of civil society, social organizations and political parties. Members of both Vyapar Mandal and Chamber of Commerce met with Vikramaditya Singh to speak about their present concerns in Udhampur region.
People suggested that since the Central School building at Gol market had been declared unsafe, it should be brought down and instead, a multistorey parking and shopping complex may be constructed there. Amongst those, who met him, included Surrinder Singh Khalsa, Sanjeev Sharma along with their team. They also suggested that the Municipality office at Town Hall be shifted to its  own building at MH road and a parking complex be made here.
Vikramaditya was invited  to attend a function at Jagriti that runs an old age home and a Bal Ashram.
Delegations from various political parties also called on Vikramaditya Singh and apprised him of the prevailing political disillusionment and unrest amongst the public and youth in particular.
