Vikar submits demands for development of Banihal to PM

SRINAGAR, June 27: The Minister for Technical Education and Power, Vikar Rasool the other day presented a charter of demands to the Prime Minister for ensuring the sustained development of the Banihal and its adjoining areas.
The demands include taking up of three major roads of Banihal which includes Neel-Chamlvas, Ukharal- Senabati and Nachma- Mohumangat under BRO, so that all weather connectivity is ensured on these for the general benefit of the people of the areas. He also demanded that the various roads of the Banihal area be provided funds under Central Road Funds(CRF), so that the proper connectivity is also ensured.
Vikar also demanded that the various Mini-hydroelectric projects identified be provided with adequate funds by the centre, so that the work can be taken on these. The projects include Mohumangat- Khari, Ukhral- Bathroo, Nallah- Bisilari. He also demanded for construction of tunnel at Chachihal-Mangat, so that the problem of Mangat area remaining cut off from the rest of the Banihal for long period is also addressed.
The Minister also demanded a special package for the un-employed youth of the Banihal in various para-militry forces, Police and Railways, so that the problem of unemployment can be tackled in a proper way.  He also advocated for re-employing the persons engaged under NYC.
