RAJOURI, Aug 26: Member Legislative Council (MLC) and Senior BJP leader, Vibodh Gupta today inspected developmental works and progress under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan programme in Rajouri town.
Accompanied by Engineers and officers of Municipal Committee (MC), Rajouri, Vibodh Gupta inspected ongoing work on Town Hall and instructed the MC authorities to get the hall fully functional for use in next marriage season. He said that the hall is important for city as many people have to either book hotels for functions or change their venue to Jammu due to absence of any multi-purpose hall. He said that the hall will cater all needs of the city residents.
The MLC also inspected drain works in the town. He said that he managed to bring Rs 22 lakh for lanes and drains of city and the work is going on satisfactorily. He issued instructions to officers to use quality material in the works so that the problems of residents are resolved permanently.
The BJP leader said that an NGO has been brought in Rajouri to spend Rs 16 lakh for construction of a toilet complex for the convenience of general public and visitors of Government offices located in city area. He said that it is a part of Swach Bharat Abhiya launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi envisioning healthy and clean India.
The MLC expressed satisfaction over strong coalition between State and Centre and said that Centre is wholeheartedly supporting the State on every issue and providing sufficient funds for development.
BJP District president, Dinesh Sharma and Ex-Chairman, Municipality, Rajinder Gupta, were also present on the occasion.
