JAMMU, Oct 25: Vishaw Hindu Parishad (VHP) today decided to send its delegation to Ladakh region to ascertain the ground situation in Zanaskar area where the group clashes have taken place.
Disclosing this to media persons here today, VHP State president Dr Rama Kant Dubey said that after assessment of the situation VHP will initiate remedial measures.
Dr Dubey also demanded action under law against the people involved in forcible conversions of minority Buddhists in the area. He said this is being done under a hatched conspiracy to encourage the migration Buddhists from the area on the pattern of minorities from Kashmir and VHP will not allow this to happen.
Dr Dubey while expressing his total solidarity with minorities in Ladakh region said that VHP is solidly behind them and it will not allow forcible conversion in the area.
He alleged that some radicals in the area are hell bent to disturb the age old traditions of coexistence and communal harmony in the area.
He said the matter was brought in the notice of administration by VHP over a month back after some local Buddhists from Zanaskar called on them and apprised them of the nefarious designs of some radicals in the area who were forcing their community members to conversion.
Dr Dubey said VHP has been highlighting this issue for a long time and he recalled that in past also the small kids of the Buddhist community were rescued who were brought from Ladakh to Jammu for conversion.
He said the Government should take immediate steps in containing the situation in Zanaskar which is a sensitive area as per the defense point of view and as its border is touching China and Afghanistan.
VHP leaders Dr Sham and Balkrishan Gupta were also present in the press conference.
