VHP condemns Changer incident, submits memorandum to Div Com

JAMMU, Dec 21: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) while strongly condemning the discretion of a temple at village Changer in tehsil Marwah of Kishtwar district during the intervening night of December 16 and 17 said the act was aimed at demoralizing the minorities in the tehsil.
Talking to reporters here, today VHP State president, Dr Rama Kant Dubey along with other leaders including Rajesh Gupta, Dr Sham and Hem Raj Khajuria said that the minorities in the village had witnessed a humiliation through the hands of mob on August 9 earlier and they were saved from their wrath by security forces only on that day.
A group of aggrieved villagers who were also present in the press conference while narrating their tale of woes said they feel scared as administration has failed to protect them.
They said the area sans basic facilities including the communication, road link, transport and it is a distance of two days journey from Kishtwar by foot. They said that the minorities are under pressure from administration to withdraw the case.
Dr Dubey said the Hindus are in minority in the village and the police picket was also removed in 2011 for reasons better known to the Government.
He demanded arrest of the people responsible for sacrilegious act, transfer of police personnel including incharge of STF from the area, recruitment of local youth in VDCs, and sanction of permanent post of army and security forces.
Dr Dubey also criticized the re-induction of Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo in the Council of Ministers and also rejected the one man Judicial Commission report on Kishtwar violence of August 9.
He demanded a CBI probe into the violence and action against the guilty.
Later a delegation of VHP leaders and villagers called on Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu and submitted a memorandum to him.
