JAMMU: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli today said a Veterinary Hospital will be set up at Dhuno in Nagrota area.
Minister said this while addressing people at a public grievances redressal camp at Dhuno here today.
The Minister said he has directed the concerned officers to formulate a project report well in time for sanction of funds so that the hospital would be setup for better healthcare of the livestock in the area.
Earlier, during the Grievance Redresal Camp, locals demanded establishment of sheep, poultry and fish farms in the area besides demanding repairs of roads. They also pleaded for providing adequate drinking water, power supply and healthcare facilities in the area.
Responding to the public grievances, the Minister said the government would take appropriate steps for the establishment of livestock farms after preparation of feasibility report. He said the issues like upgradation of drinking water, power supply, and healthcare facilities besides repairs of the link roads would be taken up with the concerned Departments at the earliest for redress.
Kohli said the government is committed to provide improved basic amenities to the people of the State. He said the present government has initiated numerous innovative measures to revamp the overall developmental scenario especially in hilly and backward areas.
The Minister said the government has launched number of welfare schemes for the socio-economic uplift of the weaker sections of the society and called upon the people to come forward and take maximum benefit by these schemes. He asked the officers to ensure mass awareness campaigns especially in hilly and remote areas about the benefit of welfare schemes for transforming socio-economic condition of the weaker sections of society.
