Veeri for streamlining supply of ration to migrants

JAMMU,  Nov 23: The Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Minister, Abdul Rehman Veeri has issued directives to Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, M N Pandita asking him immediately liaison with  Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department for streamlining the supply of ration to the migrants.
The directives were issued after the Minister held a meeting with the PDP Minority Cell which called on him under the leadership of Ramesh Koul and A K Sidha and sought the immediate redressal of the problems of Kashmiri migrants.
The Minister said that for the issuance of PRCs for Kashmiri migrants registered outside the State, the administrative department  will authorize the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner to issue PRCs to such migrants after adopting due procedure.
Veeri also announced one time amnesty for verification and rectification of records of migrants. He assured the delegation that release of full relief/ ration benefits to the time barred cases will be taken up besides unique numbers to be provided to the migrants registered under dummy data forms with full benefits of relief and ration.
Veeri also issued direction to officers to make the Jagti township hospital a viable health institution and announced creation of more migrant zones and Jagti township and Durga Nagar.
He assured grant of full cash benefits to new born babies. Besides the directions were issued to Relief organization to make a liaison with the deputy commissioners concerned for 100 percent Aadhaar seeding of migrants especially relief holders.
The Minister also agreed to consider the continuation of relief benefits to the parental family in which a dependent attains Government employment other than PM package.
Veeri issued immediate instruction to MD JKPCC for completion of flats of migrant employees and urged Relief Commissioner to undertake repairs and renovation of migrant quarters at Jagti, Purkhoo, Buta Nagar and Muthi on war footing.
The Minister issued directions for augmentation of water supply for Jagti township and immediate completion of Old Age Home at Jagti. The directions were also given to Relief authorities to provide full relief and ration benefits to single soul (Women) who have either left their families or widowed and have no means of sustenance and Relief Commissioner was asked to come out with a suitable proposal for covering all the relief category migrants and pensioners under group medical cover and also prepare the agenda for special centrally sponsored schemes to the migrants for deliberations so that they can also be covered under these schemes.
