VC reviews functioning of JDA

JAMMU, June 24: Vice Chairman, Jammu Development Authority, Satesh Nehru, on Monday had a meeting with senior officers to review the overall functioning of the department.
The Chief Town Planner informed that 3 commercial sites and 9 shop sites have been carved out at Transport Nagar adjoining sale depot, 49 shop sites measuring 12×15 feet adjoining Commercial Complex Fruit Mandi behind Petrol Pump at Narwal, on the land which was retrieved recently and 60 residential plots measuring 30’x 60′ have also been carved out at Roop Nagar Extension Housing Colony.
The VC directed the Secretary JDA to put all these shops and commercial sites to auction and call the applications from the general public for allotment of plots through draw of lots within shortest possible time so that housing problems of people are mitigated to some extent.
He also directed him to put the commercial site at Railhead complex (OB-23) to auction. It was estimated that good revenue to the tune of over Rs. 20 crore (approximately) will be generated through these auctions/allotments which will be utilized for development.
Among others the meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer, Secretary, Senior Architect, Collector Land Acquisition, Chief Accounts Officer Cost, Executive Engineer Div-II, Senior Law Officer and various revenue officials of JDA.
