JAMMU, Jan 14: On the occasion of Makar Sakaranti, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology – Teaching Association Jammu (SKUAST-TAJ) today released its first ever Teaching Association Calendar-2016.
The New Year Calendar-2016 was released by the Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, Dr Pardeep Kumar Sharma in the presence of Dr Vikas Sharma, president of SKUAST-TAJ and others.
The Vice Chancellor congratulated the Association and expressed hope that the SKUAST-TAJ will continue to work for the betterment of teaching fraternity which will help the University to achieve academic, research and extension excellence in near future.
Speaking on the occasion, Vikas said that the calendar has been prepared with photographs of major events and achievements of the Teaching Association which highlight the performance of organization. He further informed that the calendar also contains the photographs of eminent scientists of SKUAST-Jammu, who contributed a lot for the development of this only farm/professional varsity of Jammu region.
“We have many more initiatives in the pipeline to rejuvenate the association and attune its functioning to the fast changing scenario”, he said and added that SKUAST TAJ will soon publish a booklet exclusively on salient achievements of association and will start “Tweeting” to attain a full-fledged run on Information Superhighway.
Those present on the occasion, included Dr J P Sharma-Director Research, Dr T. Ganai-Director Education, Dr B B Gupta-Registrar and members of Association, including Dr P K Rai; Dr Devinder Sharma; Dr Rajeev Sangra; Dr Jai Kapoor, Dr Poonam Parihar, Dr Anil Bhatt and Dr Biswajeet Brahma, who designed the calendar.
