JAMMU, Dec 15: To have on-the-spot assessment of the functioning of various hostels of the University and get feed back from the boarders, Jammu University Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma paid a surprise visit to Sarojini Naidu Girls Hostel.
During his visit, Prof Sharma had a detailed interaction with the boarders. He took a round of different segments of the hostel block. The boarders apprised him about the general and hostel related issues. They urged the Vice Chancellor for devising a mechanism wherein academics and research assumes paramount importance. They said that other allied issues should not be allowed to dominate the basic objective of imparting quality education in the institute of higher learning.
The Vice Chancellor assured the students and research scholars that the suggestions put forth by them with regard to further streamlining of the hostel and University functioning will merit due consideration at appropriate level.
Prof Sharma said that the University was determined to maintain congenial academic atmosphere in the institution which will help students and the scholars to grow in healthy environs.
