VC Gujjar & Bakerwal Board reviews progress on Cluster Model Village Badnota

KATHUA: Vice Chairman,  State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjars and Bakerwals, Ch Zafar Ali today reviewed the progress on Cluster Model Village, Badnota during a meeting held here today.

Pertinently, village Badnota of block Lohai Malhar with a good number of tribal population, had been identified to be developed as model cluster village under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Plan ( SCA to TSP).

Threadbare discussion was held on physical and financial progress achieved on development of the village during the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 for improving infrastructure in Education, health, PHE, Electricity, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Agriculture sectors.

It was apprised in the meeting that funds worth Rs 50 lakh have been sanctioned during the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 for strengthening the infrastructure under the plan against which Rs 25.218 lakh has been expended till March 2017.

The departments highlighted the progress achieved under the first phase of the plan, under which projects such as additional class rooms, play ground and laboratory for Government Higher Secondary School Badnota have been started. Likewise, an ambulance has been purchased by health department, while work on laying of PHE Distribution system by PHE department, installation of 25 KVA transformers, establishment of dairy units by animal husbandry and construction of sheep extension centre Badnota has been started besides Honda pumps and Spray pumps has been distributed.

During the meeting,  the progress under Skill Development programme was also reviewed under which a total of Rs.9 lakh have been expended against the sanctioned Rs.25 lakh for providing training in different trades such as electrician, Plumber, Computer networking, driver cum mechanic, tailor, plumber, refrigerator and air conditioning through ITI’s and Polytechnic college Kathua.

Vice Chairman called upon the officers to speed up the works assigned to their respective departments besides maintaining quality of works. He asked the concerned for removing bottlenecks, if any, in the implementation of approved plan. He informed that the physical inspection of the completed and ongoing projects will be done soon.

ADC Kathua Rishpal Singh, ADC Billawar Joginder Singh Rai, Deputy Director Tribal Affairs Jammu  Suman Bala, SE PDD Sandeep Seth, ACD, CAO, DSHO, DYSSO, XEN PWD Basohli, XEN PHE, PO DUDA, DEPO, DYSSO, HTO and others were present in the meeting.
