JAMMU, July 25: The J&K unit of Vedic Brahman Kalyan Parishad (VBKP) today appealed to the Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh and IGP Jammu to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the `mysterious death’ case of 50-year-old Rajinder Sharma as Bishnah police was trying to derail the investigation and hide the facts.
In a meeting of the VBKP unit held today at Hiranagar in district Kathua under the chairmanship of J&K Unit president, Pt Daya Ram Sharma in presence of family members of the deceased, hailing from Pathankote and other relatives from Jammu area, the members expressed serious concern over the attitude of Bishnah police while dealing with the case. The members claimed it was clear murder case while local police were trying to derail the investigations.
While showing photographs of the spot during meeting, the family members said the body of Rajinder Sharma was hanging from iron grill of the window of his rented room at Ratnal near Sarore with a weak rope, which was unable to sustain his body load. Moreover, his legs were bent and touching floor. The body and face had many injury marks/ bruises. They said the police and even the doctor at GMC Jammu forced family not to conduct postmortem of the body claiming that it was clear suicide and tried to harass them. The owner of the firm R K Enterprises, Rajesh Kumar dealing with solar panels and his two brothers were giving different versions about the incident which indicates their fishy role . The victim family was being pressurized and harassed by the accused and local investigating team. The family said they had no trust on Bishnah police as it was shielding the culprits and trying to derail the fair investigation.
The VBKP Unit after listening to the issue seriously from the victim family urged the DGP J&K and IGP Jammu to order a probe by SIT so that justice is provided to the victim family. They also demanded that present SHO be shifted immediately.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included, Councillor Hiranagar Municipal Committee, Sanjay Sharma, Pawan Sharma, Mohan Lal Sharma, Rattan Chand Sharma, Baldev Sharma, Gopal Sharma, OP Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Som Raj, Ravinder Sharma, Parshotam Sharma and others.
