JAMMU, Nov 1: Demanding justice for the community members killed during anti-Sikh riots, various Sikh organisations took out a protest march here today.
Various Sikh bodies, besides minorities, under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Sikh Sangat led by Parvinder Singh, its president, M Jasrath Khan Rashtriya Muslim Morcha, BAMCEF, Ranjeet Singh from Sikh Morcha, United Sikh Council J&K Ch Hanief from BSP, Ambedkar Yuva Sangthan, T P Singh Molana Shah Mohd and many others including family members of the victims of anti-Sikh riots at Talwara ( Reasi), Jyotipuram, Ser Manjila Ramnagar assembled at Gurdwara Shri Nanak Dev Ji at Lower Gumat and took out a protest march.

The activists of various organisations were carrying banners and placards in their hands demanding justice in favour of the victims who were killed during the riots. They raised slogans against the previous Governments and said that they have not received justice even after 34 years. They also raised slogans against the previous Cong-NC and PDP-BJP Governments. They said Congress and BJP both have failed to provide them the justice. They said over 5000 innocent killings took place in the country during these riots but the justice is still awaited.
Terming the massacre as State sponsored and mass killings of Sikhs, Com Sukhdev Singh sought the intervention of the United Nations for an International inquiry into the incidents. They also paid homage to those killed, by observing silence and marked this day as ‘Black Day ‘. The protest march culminated near Press Club. Various Sikh leaders addressed the gathering and said that there was strong resentment among the community members over the attitude of the respective Governments. The criminals have not been booked and brought to justice. They demanded that SIT be constituted to probe the incidents of 1984 and 1989 anti-Sikh riots.
