JAMMU, July 31: Guru Purnima was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety by various social and religious organizations, here today.
Bhagwaan Gopinath Trust organized a function at Bhagwaan Gopinath Ashram, Udaiwala, Jammu, to celebrate ‘Guru Purnima’. The function started in the morning with Pushp Archana at the feet of Bhagwaanji in the Ashram. Devotees thronged the Ashram premises early in the morning and the congregation had an ecstatic experience of devotion for the Guru. Prayers were offered for universal peace, brotherhood and upliftment of humanity. Guru Purnima also celebrated at Bhagwaan Gopinath Ashrams in other parts of the State and the Country.
Like other parts of the country the Guru Purnima was also celebrated today at various places in Poonch district. The main functions were held at Biram Shahi Gaddi Guru Nivas, Poonch. Several devotees of Biram Shahi Gaddi hailing from Punjab, Himachal Pardesh and Delhi, including from Kathmandu Nepal and State itself paid their obeisance and sought blessings on the occasion. Guru Bhai Krishan Lal Ji Dutt and Bhai Lokesh Ji Dutt delivered religious sermons on the occasion. Later, langer was also organized for devotees.
Guru Purnima was celebrated at Haridwar with religious fervor and gaiety by Swami Bal Yogeshwar Dass Ji Maharaj. A special function was organized at Haridwar where thousands of devotees of Swami Bal Yogeshwar Maharaj took a holy dip in River Ganga and paid obeisance. The devotees sought the blessings of Swami Bal Yogeshwar Maharaj. The devotees also paid homage to all the gurus on holy occasion. Special katha, satsung and Guru-Pujan were also performed at Ganga Ghat in Haridwar. Later, Bhandara was also organized.
The auspicious function of Guru Purnima was held at Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj Geeta Santang Ashram, Muthi today.
Prashad was distributed among the devotees on the occasion and the programme started with Abshek of Saints and Swamis and Puja of Vais Bhagwan.
Later, Guru Puja of Bab Ji Maharaj was held in which saints, scholars and social workers comprising of large chunk of devotees were present. Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj threw light on the importance of the day.
Guru Purnima was celebrated at Pushkara Swami Sewa Ashrams, Laxmipuram, Chinore, Bantalab and Najafgarh, Delhi today. Hundreds of devotees participated in the function to pay obeisance to Guru Maharaj. Bhajans and Kirtans were held on the occasion.
To celebrate Guru Purnima, a function was organized by Manav Utthan Sewa Samiti, Jammu Branch at its Ashram Hans Gyan Mandir, here.
Satsang and Bhandara was organized on the occasion, wherein Mahatama delivered religious discourses on Guru Mahima.
To celebrate Guru Purnima, Guru Puja was held at Krishna Satsang Bhawan, Sanjeevni Kutir, Surya Vihar, Bohri, here.
Anand Swami Pran Nath Bhat delivered thought provoking discourse on the importance of the day and threw light on the contribution of Vedas. On the occasion, CD of Briji devotional songs was released by Briji and Tosha Ji Raina.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ramesh Hangloo, Shanti Lal Sidh, Kuldeep Saproo, C L Raina and Prof JN Pandita, while the proceedings of the function were conducted by R K Pandita.
Guru Purnima was celebrated Sunderbani, today. Large numbers of devotees worshipped Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandleshwar Sunita Nand Giri Ji at Shakti Sansthan. MLA Ravinder Raina took part in poojan and bhandara on the occasion.
