Vakil appeals Geelani to revoke poll boycott call

SRINAGAR, Nov 17: Former Minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today appealed Chairman Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani to revoke his poll boycott call and said that holding of elections in the State and resolving of Kashmir problem are two separate issues.
He said this while addressing a public gathering at Haran, Ganderbal here today.
Vakil said that propagation of the poll boycott will directly affect the prosperity of the masses.
He said that Syed Ali Shah Geelani must revisit his decision and understand the prevailing scenario in the State and condition of the poor people in the State.
Vakil stressed upon Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to concentrate on developmental issues rather on his
political concerns.
Besides others who addressed the gathering were senior Congress leader and Ex-MLC Haji Ali Mohammad Bhat, district president Ganderbal Ghulam Hassan Shah and senior Congress Leader Qaiser Ahmad Jin.
