JAMMU, Nov 17: To deal with drinking water scarcity in Chak Bijan, Adarsh Enclave, K C Colony and Trikuta Nagar Extension, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture Raman Bhalla today laid foundation of a deep drill tube well at Chak Bijan, to be completed at a cost of Rs. 196.96 lakh.
While addressing a gathering at Trikuta Nagar Extension, Mr Bhalla informed that on commissioning of the tube well problem of water scarcity in the area would be solved to a larger extent. He said the project would be completed within 4 months by PHE Department.
Mr. Bhalla informed that Government has already commissioned 22 tube wells under ERA and 10 under state plan in his constituency to ensure that no household remains without this vital facility.
The Minister informed that Government has formulated a comprehensive plan for laying of water supply pipes in Channi Himmat area.
Responding to the locals demand, Mr. Bhalla said Government has earmarked Rs. 40 lakh for road widening and macadamization of Chak Bijan, Adarsh Enclave and Trikuta Nagar Extension internal links, adding that the project would start soon after completing tendering formalities.
