JAMMU, Apr 21: Director General of Police (Prisons), J&K, SP Vaid, today inaugurated residential quarters for the staff near Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, in city outskirts.
The residential buildings have been constructed by J&K Police Construction Division in a record period of six months. The DGP Prisons also commissioned armoury, Sentry posts, Guard Room, etc.
Superintendent, Central Jail, Kot Bhalwal, Dinesh Sharma, apprised the DGP about other construction works in the Jail premises.
While inaugurating the quarters, the DGP Prisons, stressed upon the Technical Wing to ensure utilization of quality material in all the construction works. He also appreciated the engineers for successful completion of works within short span of time. The DGP said that the Department would make necessary efforts to improve living conditions in the prisons and also for the welfare of staff.
Earlier this morning, the DGP Prisons commissioned the Central Store, Mess and Dining Room at District Jail, Jammu.
The DGP was also accompanied by DIG Prisons, Dr MS Lone, Staff officer to DGP, Saba Shawl, Ex Engineer, PCD, Rashid Mustafa, Technical Officer to DGP, Habib Ullah Lone and other technical staff.
