UT Steering Committee constituted for implementation of STRIVE project

JAMMU, Sept 9: The J&K Government today constituted a UT Steering Committee for implementation of Skill Strengthening for Industrial Value Enhancement (STRIVE) project in Jammu and Kashmir.
Headed by the Principal Secretary, Department of Skill Development, J&K, the committee shall be guiding and advising the work of the UTPIUs, including SAMCs and authorizing reports to the UT Government, the Central Government, the NSC and the World Bank besides assessing and recommending the Institute Strategic Plan (ISP) of it is and proposals for Industry Apprenticeship Initiative (IAI) from Industry Cluster (IC) for financing under the project.
The committee shall also be assisting selected it is in selection of Chairman of Institute Management Committee, if required, reviewing implementation progress periodically and providing directions on resolving the challenges faces in the operations including reform activities, recommending to NSC proposals for use of incentive funds for UT reforms, reviewing and approving the Annual Work Plan and Budget of the UTPIU, overseeing operational activities of it is and ICs covered under the project in the UT and reviewing and approving the training plans for the staff of UTPIU and of institutions.
Director General Trainings, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GoI; Director Skill Development, J&K; director Finance or Financial Advisor/CAO Department of Skill Development, J&K; Chief Engineer of the UT, PW(R&B) Department or his nominee, three industry representatives, three members having knowledge and interest in vocational training, Principal ITI Jammu/Srinagar and representative of CII Northern Region are members of the committee.
