USTA projects teachers’ demands

JAMMU, Nov 11: Provincial committee of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) led by Hari Singh,  projected the  long pending demands of the teachers and non teaching staff of the department.
In a meeting of the association held today, its members criticized the authorities for their  indifferent  approach towards issues of the teachers and other staff.  They alleged that Government has deliberately observed mysterious silence over the issues, which could have been addressed much earlier.
The speakers called upon the State Government to immediately address their demands which include  releasing  lists of DPC of  headmasters, masters, class 4th non teaching employees in Education Department, selection grade for trained under graduate teachers, regularization of  ReT teachers and enhancement in their  wages, transfer all masters who have completed their tenure in and out side their respective districts, removal of pay anomalies of master grade and also undergraduate teachers appointed between 1992 to 1997,  filling all vacant posts in the schools, release salary and mid-day meal grants well in time and framing transfer policy for regularized ReT teachers.
Others present in the meeting were Rajiv Kumar, Banarsi Dass, Darshan Lal, Sewa Ram, Dr Sashipal Singh, Mohd Nisar, Julfkar Ali Maliq, Chemail Singh, Sajjad Mirza and Raj Kumar.
