USTA meets Director School Education, submits demands

JAMMU, July 10: A deputation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA), led by its provincial president Rajeev Kumar, met Director School Education Jammu in his office chamber and put forth the charter of demands.
The USTA demanded repatriation/ transfer on priority all Masters who have completed much more than their tenure in far-flung areas as well as out of their district, transfer of overstayed teachers left out in the recent tentative transfer proposals of teachers uploaded on the official website for inviting objections, transfer policy for Grade 2 and Grade 3 teachers especially for married female teachers, adjustment of all the left out newly promoted Lecturers in various subjects and regularization of all incharge Lecturers, Headmasters and other officers of the Education Department working in their own pay and grade since long.
USTA also demanded filling up all existing vacant posts of Masters, Lecturers, Headmasters and non-teaching staff by way of DPC, convert all left out education volunteers into ReTs and regularise them, release 1st time bound in favour of undergraduate teachers appointed with effect from January 1992 to 1997, Senior Teacher grade to trained undergraduate teachers, clear pending time bound promotion files of teachers in distt Kathua, debar teachers from all type of non-academic duties and accord earned leave benefit in favour of Teachers, Masters, Lecturers who performed their duties in vacation under COVID-19 pandemic.
The Director School Education gave patience hearing and discussed the demands one by one and assured to redress them soon.
The delegation comprised of Hari Singh, Yonus Rahi, Sunil Kumar, Roop Chand, Ganesh Dutt, Bodh Raj and Vijay Kumar.
