Srinagar, July 10: The crescent moon of Islamic month Zilhajj was not today sighted today, making the Eid-ul-Adha fall on July 21.
The crescent of the month Zilhajj was not sighted and that Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on next week on July 21, Wednesday.
The month of Zilhajj is considered as a sacred month in the Islamic calendar during which the annual Hajj pilgrimage is performed on 9th of Zilhajj and on the 10th of Zilhajj, Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated.
The annual Hajj to Mecca, however, this year, has been cancelled and the same has been kept open for those living in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
